Diana Vernaza Gonzenbach was born in 1989 in Guayaquil, Ecuador with Swiss descent. Since always she has been struck by design, crafts and art, but it was not until later that she decided to turn them into her profession.
She was introduced to the world of design by approaching jewelry design in her native Ecuador. Likewise, she also created designs from Muyui, products with recycled canvas, mostly for charity purposes.
Later she moved to Europe to enroll at IED Madrid and continued her preparation as a product designer.
In her years of studies in Madrid she discovered an interest in natural materials, simplification of forms and emotional design. On 2012, her last year of studies, Leroy Merlin selected her design project to be produced and distributed in Leroy’s Spanish stores.
In the same year her projects were choosen to participate in Fiera Milan in Salone Satelite, Ventura Lambrate and the Biennale of Santorini in Greece.
Her proyect ‘Podium’ is produced by the French design brand La Chance and it was shown in Milan at Madtastic exhibition and La Chance’s showroom in Brera where they presented their 2013 collection.
Her work has been feature in various international magazines such as Yatzer, Neo2, Dezeen, Designboom, Casa Vouge and Wanted magazine.
